Fantastically wierd

Possibly not one to go to sleep with! An amazingly subtle yet convincing description of madness, expressed in a completely unexpected way.

A Classic Tale

Well narrated. A very unsettling tale. I’m going to listen to it again now to sort my thoughts out about what happened..

Haunting

Haunting and beautiful, narrated beautifully and authentically. Wish it were a novel. Will speak to anyone who has ever experienced mental health distress.

Fascinating and clever

Not knowing what to expect, I found myself drawn into this story of a woman’s spiral downwards and deeper into depression. Her obsession with trying to make sense of the wallpaper and her surroundings and her relationship with her husband was so sad, and it completely shut out her ability to see what was really going on around her. The clues inserted by the author into the woman’s narrative are intended for the reader but all too sadly their significance was missed by the woman. A scary yet fascinating story that needs to be read/heard a couple of times in order to fully understand. Great performance too.

So good

This is one of those stories that you know immediately when it's mentioned. Such good writing, such intriguing topic, such an open ending. Makes you think about it all for so long, I wish I could discuss this with a book club.

Chilling

I had heard about this short story. Chilling and a bit disturbing, made even more powerful when I read about the author and her story

Short but sweet

I LOVE the narrator. Her voice fits the book so incredibly well. I also liked the book but if I am honest I don’t really get the ending. I am 18 years old so maybe that’s why but I like how it is written just a very very good book to listen to.
