I don't do boyfriends. Or dating. Or random hookups.
Not when fictional men do it so much better, and not when my heart has been through the wringer. So when retired MMA fighter Matt Haywood crashes into my life, I'm not impressed. Quite the opposite actually. I avoid him at all costs.
At least, I try.
His persistence wears me down, and it's me who ends up wandering into his gym looking for more. I have to admit he's nothing like I assumed. He's witty and smart. His physical condition could win awards. Problem is, somewhere between rolling around on the mats together, I let down my guard.
I thought I was over relationships. That I'd never risk my heart again. But he's out to prove it's never too late for a comeback.

Really good book
This book was truly great. Two people with their own baggage trying to make it together against the odds. The main characters and their relationship as well as their personal struggles were amazingly well written, so was the plot line. The twist and turns were well established and you knew exactly where both the MFC and the MMC were coming from and what issues ruled their actions. The relationship and all the heartaches that came along for the ride felt real and believable.
Also the theme that were present in the book is such an important one and I think the author managed to deal with it in such a worthy manner.
The narrators did an amazing job bringing out the characters even further and their voices was spot on for the characters personalities and how I imagined their mannerisms.
Truly great read, I really recommend it.

I was pleasantly surprised
As this was on the plus list I was expecting a mediocre story but both the story and the narration was pleasantly surprising this book was better than some of the audiobooks I have bought recently

Loved it
As this was my first Kacey Shea book I wasn’t sure what to expect but I loved it.
Will definitely be looking out for more of her books now 🩶

enjoyable story
