Summary

A plague has fallen across the land. Slaughter fills the streets. All seems lost.

After Great Britain is hit by a devastating epidemic, four old friends must cross the war-torn country to get home to their families. But in order to reach their loved ones, they must journey through towns, villages and countryside teeming with the monstrous Infected - mutated people whose only desires are to infect and feed.

Run and hide. Seek shelter. Pray for salvation. The last plague is here.

Short sentences and slow reading.

Had to seed up narrations. I couldn’t continue with it after they encountered the horse. Can’t bare it. Thought about skipping the chapter but the book didn’t read well anyway so quit it

I liked the idea

The idea of the plague was good. I did think the four main characters were a bit under developed but the main thrust of the story was the impact on humanity and not character lead so that’s ok.

My main issue was with the narration which was so slow and affected that I had to listen on 1.5 speed. Something I never do normally.

Great narration!

I loved the narration for this book and also that it was set in UK , covering many areas I’m familiar with! A great take on an apocalyptic horror.

cosmic.

Defo a bit of Howard Philip Lovecraft and Brian Lumley in this. A great find. A dark and horrifying decent into hell. loved it.

The reader pronounces A as E

Good grief, a slow reader who pronounces 75% of words with an A as an E. Frenk not frank, herd not hard , steined not stained etc etc. Really poor narration makes an average story difficult. He has no excuse, he reads so slow theres no real room for error.

Bad grammar, weird narrator, decent plot

Bad grammar and some words that aren’t even words. Why isn’t it edited and proofread?
The narrator pronounces some basic words and famous place names incorrectly, and has a very strange style and tone.
However - the plot is a decent trashy zombie one.
