Summary
The riveting story of Margaret Pole, daughter of George, Duke of Clarence, and was one of the few surviving members of the Plantagenet dynasty after the Wars of the Roses. Plantagenet, once carried proudly by Margaret like a crown upon her head, is now, at the end of the 15th century, the most dangerous name in England....

Excellent story
My favourite Philippa Gregory book is The Other Boleyn Girl, and I was utterly thrilled to read another of her books - The King's Curse - which so excellently brings the frightening Tudor period to life.
It did annoy me that Bianca Amato pronounced Berkshire in the American way but apart from that she is an excellent reader. She was Margaret!

Gregory back on form!
Ms Gregory has her mojo back after several weak Plantagenet novels this one is back to the style I had come to expect from this author after reading earlier Tudor books.
The reader has a few very irritating mispronunciation since the same few words occur often & I did find myself correcting her each time.
Overall highly enjoyable listen.

Fantastically brutal history we must not forget
The story is fictional as far as the narrative is concerned but the historical facts should never be forgotten. This is a terribly sad story made all the worse for being true. The footnote at the end is very touching. A difficult listen but absolutely enchanting. Even though the worst it is impossible to stop listening.

Another great book
I loved the story again and it's a great way to find out more about history, particularly the Courtenay family who still live close by. I found the narration slightly annoying with mispronunciation of several place names, but overall really liked it.

Fantastic book
I loved the strength of the women in the story, it is a good book to compare to "The Other Boleyn Girl" Sad it's finished.

What a strong and remarkable lady
I knew nothing of Margaret Pole until I listened to this book. Fascinating account and amazing she survived for as long as she did.
Excellent narration. Definitely worth a read or listen.

Captivating story and loved the author’s end note !
Have listened to all Plantagenet and Tudor series - fascinating and these are fictional novels as written by Phillips Gregory you know the base is rooted in historical knowledge. I love them - especially as from a woman’s voice . What a tyrant Henry 8th was - horrific actions that changed the country for the worse for sure. Am looking forward to reading the next series The Tudor court !
Enjoyed the narration- - I love the unabridged listens - it is a shame that The White Queen and The lady Rivers are only to be found in abridged version.

Really interesting
I was dubious having read other reviews. I love the author and have read many of her books but never listened before. I did expect it to be slightly ruin by narration because of the previous reviews but was really pleasantly surprised. I thought it was good and thoroughly enjoyed the story.
