Great dramatisation of a classic novel
It’s a difficult job to fit the whole of a long novel into a two-hour dramatisation. This does it well and captures the key scenes of the original. The spoken Scots is good, as you’d expect from Gerda Stevenson.

This dramatisation is ruined by 2 news bulletins
This has been very badly edited. It is a Radio 4 dramatisation but they have not even bothered to remove the announcements and news bulletins between chapters.
