The new heart-pounding novel from Sunday Times best-selling author Claire Douglas.
It was the house of their dreams. Until the bodies were found....

When pregnant Saffron Cutler moves into 9 Skelton Place with boyfriend Tom and sets about renovations, the last thing she expects is builders uncovering a body - two bodies, in fact.
Police investigate.
Forensics indicate the bodies have been buried at least 30 years. Nothing Saffy need worry herself over. Until the police launch a murder investigation and ask to speak to the cottage's former owner - her grandmother, Rose.

Rose is in a care home, and Alzheimer's means her memory is increasingly confused. She can't help the police, but it is clear she remembers something.
A killer at large?
As Rose's fragmented memories resurface and the police dig ever deeper, Saffy fears she and the cottage are being watched.
What happened 30 years ago?
Why did no one miss the victims?
What part did her grandmother play?
And is Saffy now in danger?

Incredible book
I finished this on Audible today and it was amazing. This is by far the best book I've listened to this year. The storyline was so cleverly crafted and I loved the way you heard the telephone calls; it was really clever and the plot was beautifully portrayed x

Gripping!
The characters are realistic: flawed and human, not two-dimensional creations. I feel as though I have spent time at the cottage and in their company.
It is definitely a book that I will re-read. Loved it.

Another belter from Claire Douglas
An excellent story, as it gradually reveals the events of the past and why Saffy & Tom have found 2 bodies in their garden.
I enjoyed the performances too. They did full justice to the story.
As always with Claire Douglas, there are twists and surprises along the way. A gripping story that kept me entertained throughout.

Unusual narration technique
The story is narrated by all the characters in the story, each chapter by a different person, this sometimes made it a bit confusing for an old brain like mine. It is worth sticking with it as you cannot guess what really happened until the end of the book.

Twisty turny. Keeps you guessing...
I liked the contrast of male and female narration. Very descriptive. Great plot. Well told. Edgy and dark.
