A good read

Lots of twists in the story and the narrator was brilliant. Well done, Ms Koomson.

So well written

I bought this week as my weekend book.
As usual, I'm not going to talk about the plot the description above is enough anymore could spoil your listening.

I often guess "Who done it!" but not so quickly this time in some ways I wasn't bothered as I was carried forward by the story.
The characters are so well written I'm so impressed with how the story opens up.
I will be buying other books Dorothy Koomson.
I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

Five Star Entertainment

What made the experience of listening to The Flavours of Love the most enjoyable?

The book gripped me from the beginning. The plot was great and unpredictable. The narration marvelous.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Flavours of Love?

I enjoyed all the book. It is hard to pick out moments. I was never bored.

What does Adjoa Andoh bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

AA brings life into the story by acting out all the different voices and moods. She does not just read. She truly brings the characters to life :-)

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was not moved by a particular moment in the book. The book is a whole.

Any additional comments?

Splendid narration and splendid writing. Thank You D.K and A.A

Good plot but too long

I enjoyed the twists and turns of this plot but I had to force myself to continue listening when the plot development got far too detailed for me. I found myself thinking ‘ok got it, move on...’ Don’t usually find myself doing that. Enjoyed the varied well developed characters

Gripping and packed with empathy

I couldn’t put this down. I read how other readers found the description excessive but I found it spot in and insightful. The plot development and threads held my attention and the narration was excellent. This was my first Dorothy Koolmon, and will not be the last!!

Brilliant ❤️

Another wonderful DK story, just a beautiful story of love, loss and courage. Main character has so much strength.

No too sure about this.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Having read all Dorothy Koomson's previous books and noticing how each book seems to be getting darker, I'm not sure I really enjoyed listening to this. I must admit I preferred her earlier books especially My Best Friend's Girl. I'm at a loss to understand why the book has this title, seems quite strange.

What other book might you compare The Flavours of Love to, and why?

I suppose its along the lines of The Ice Cream Girls and The Rose Petal Beach, but as I've said I preferred her earlier works.

What about Adjoa Andoh’s performance did you like?

Adjoa Andoh gives a great performance, I like to hear her reading books on Audible, and this did help me choosing this story.

Do you think The Flavours of Love needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No, I think its all been said.

Any additional comments?

Hope Dorothy's style changes as I think this will be the last book I buy of hers.

I loved this book

This was originally released as The Flavour of Love. I enjoyed it when I read it in 2014. A little annoyed to have purchased the same book twice because there is no mention of this originally released name in the book blurb.

Disapointed!

Any additional comments?

I have really enjoyed the other books I have read/listened to from this author. However, I was disapointed in this one. The story itself is good, but its too drawn out and a bit repetitive. At 15 hours, I think it could have been edited down to 10, then it may have been a 5* read. I must add though that the parent walking on egg shells around a 14-year-old rang absolutely true.
