About this listen

When writer Rob Fallon goes out one night and ends up with his best-friend's girlfriend, Jenny, he's feeling guilty before anything's even happened. But guilt quickly turns to shock when two men break into Jenny's apartment, abduct her and try to kill Rob.

When Rob reports this to the police, no one believes him. And when he speaks to Jenny's father, he says she's on holiday abroad. Rob knows Jenny's life's in danger and starts asking questions. Soon he's the target of brutal killers who are as terrifying as they are elusive.

But what do they want? And what does it have to do with an ordinary girl like Jenny? Either Rob finds out or he's dead. It's that simple....

An absolute page turner....Easy to listen to and I would thoroughly recommend. I hope the author has more books!

Best audio book I've listened too. Great story.

Great twist with the main character which I never saw coming. A great book which I would recommend.

struggled to finish it. too drawn out. could not really empathise with characters. narration good.

complicated

Increasingly I'm realising the quality of an audible book is as much about the narrator as the book. Target ticks highly in both categories.

Excellent Narration

Again Kernick at his best.

Another Kernick masterpiece

Couldn’t stop listening. Great story. Very well narrated by Paul Thornley. Thank you Simon for such fast paced plots and please keep your stories coming. And keep Paul as your narrator.

Fabulous

Well written, great story line with a fab narrator. The book was gripping all the way through with an excellent ending. Well worth a read.

A really gripping book

This is a decent thriller. Not amazing, but certainly not a waste of time. It has a good premise and the story moves along well. You have to suspend your disbelief at times, but this is a fictional story, not a fact-based documentary. The narration is really good, especially the dour Northern Ireland accent, which was very intimidating. I got it on sale and it was well worth a few quid.

A decent yarn.

Really loved this, hard to listen to at times as it pulls no punches, but it's all the better for it.
I will be looking into more books by this author as long as they're narrated by Paul Thornley!
This is one I'm sure I'll re-read 🙂

One of the best.

this story is not as bad as some of the reviews read here. however the description of the storyline is very confusing as it concerns what I felt was a lesser story. I enjoyed this but the plot is wafer thin and I didn't feel anything for the characters. Worth listening to so you can appreciate a good thriller when you here one.

Confused by preface
