About this listen

When writer Rob Fallon goes out one night and ends up with his best-friend's girlfriend, Jenny, he's feeling guilty before anything's even happened. But guilt quickly turns to shock when two men break into Jenny's apartment, abduct her and try to kill Rob.

When Rob reports this to the police, no one believes him. And when he speaks to Jenny's father, he says she's on holiday abroad. Rob knows Jenny's life's in danger and starts asking questions. Soon he's the target of brutal killers who are as terrifying as they are elusive.

Really loved this, hard to listen to at times as it pulls no punches, but it's all the better for it.
I will be looking into more books by this author as long as they're narrated by Paul Thornley!
This is one I'm sure I'll re-read 🙂

What made the experience of listening to Target the most enjoyable?

Within the first 5 minutes of the book I was hooked, so many twists and turns a real enjoyable listen. Never heard of Simon Kernick utill I joined Audible I'm now downloading another of his for this months listen.

What other book might you compare Target to, and why?

Similar to Andy McNabb and Chris Ryan books without the Army connections

Which scene did you most enjoy?

Without giving too much away - Realisation that his mate was more involved that first thought

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was kept on the edge of my seat throughout - really wanted people to live, but the story had other ideas

Great twist with the main character which I never saw coming. A great book which I would recommend.

I can safely say this is one of the first audio books i have hated having to leave to the following day to get to the conclusion of.

The story starts at a steady pace and builds suspension time and again. The author does a great job of taking time to give enough detail to give a feeling of emersion but not drowning you with page after page describing it's raining.

Narrator does a fantastic job and helps everyone come to life as an individual.

If you like a crime story this is one that I would definitely recommend. I certainly think I will look at other titles written.

I bought this having read glowing reviews, I thought the plot weak and really not plausible. Characters weren't particularly likeable. I have been really disappointed with this purchase.

Well written, great story line with a fab narrator. The book was gripping all the way through with an excellent ending. Well worth a read.

this story is not as bad as some of the reviews read here. however the description of the storyline is very confusing as it concerns what I felt was a lesser story. I enjoyed this but the plot is wafer thin and I didn't feel anything for the characters. Worth listening to so you can appreciate a good thriller when you here one.
