Another triumph

After listening to Brother Fish, I wanted to experience another Bryce Courtnay novel and this did not disappoint.
The amazing characters once again drew me in and I felt the struggle of black South Africans.
Tandia experienced terrible brutality, but her strength of character helped her survive.
Another great story, brilliantly read. Don't miss it.

Fantastic sequel

I didn't think that The Power of One could be better but it has. I have listened to this book multiple times and read it multiple times and it still impresses me.

Unforgettable

I was unable to put this book down. Once again a superb read by a master storyteller and all based on fact. Narrated by Humphrey Bower who brings the story to life. Wonderful.

Incredible.

I first read this book when I was a teenager and fell in love with it, what a pleased to listen to it years later. Bryce Courtenay is a wonderful writer and Humphrey Bower is a brilliant narrator. I would 100% recommend this book, but make sure you read/listen to The Power of One first. You are guaranteed to enjoy this incredible journey full of all sorts of emotions. I will take the journey again sometime!

Extraordinary Tandia

A wonderful epic novel. The characters are real and vivid digging deep into their souls for truth and resolve. "First with the Head, then with the Heart!".
Mr Bower is the master storyteller whose books are worth seeking. Another fabulous narration.

The most head bangingly upsetting story ever. <br />

After the inspiring triumph of the power of one, the joy it brought me to read as a boy the first time and the second day as a young man I thought the same of tandia. Yet as it progresses you come across one crushing g truth, the knowledge that the Timine of South Africa and the book mean there can be no triumph for these people. The only thing that saves you is k own g that they are right and just. The feeling of helplessness and sorrow and human nature so brilliantly captured in this book resonates today. We must be and can be better. We should never hate as hate is all destroying. Just bloody brilliant book

Tandia and Peekay

What did you like most about Tandia?

the wonderful story of Africa its people and their lands..

Who was your favorite character and why?

Pee Kay i followed him through The power of one. And this wonderful book let me stay with him, right to the end of his fantastic journey.

Which character – as performed by Humphrey Bower – was your favourite?

oh ! that is a hard one to answer,as all his characters are just so pitch perfect.. The whole ; Sheebang !!!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

not possible its very long, but I did find it difficult to put down... I wanted to put a Do Not Disturb Me sign near me most of the time...

Any additional comments?

Bryce Courtney is some story teller,I have read a good few of his books and loved them. Tandia is particularly good,it showed me just how bad things were in South Africa for the black and coloured people. If you have a Heart and a Soul, I think you will love this book.
