Critic reviews

"In Feehan's latest paranormal, sizzling sex scenes both physical and telepathic pave the road to true love for brilliant billionaire scientist Lily Whitney and Captain Ryland Miller, the leader of a squad of psionically gifted soldiers who have been imprisoned and separated from each other after receiving life-threatening enhancements. When Lily's father called her in to consult on a top-secret project he was working on for the government, he had no idea that he was signing his own death warrant or that his beloved daughter with her psychic talents would witness his murder and become a target for the traitors who were bending his project to their own evil purposes. Ryland lends his psychic strength to Lily and ignites a passion that brings him and his men into her high-security estate. Action, suspense, and smart characters make this erotically charged romance an entertaining read." ( Booklist)

A Solid 3-Star Paranormal Romance.

I have read some books by Christine Feehan before; however, Tom Stechschulte is a new-to-me narrator.

The story was good. I enjoyed the plot; medical experimentation on US soldiers, espionage, fight for life, found family.

The narration was good. I didn't get confused during multiple-character conversations. The voices fit the characters.

What I didn't enjoy was the endless internal monologues about how our protagonists felt about each other. Many of which were going over the same ground and not progressing the story. It became tedious, and I found myself fast-forwarding the recording to get passed it on more than one occasion.

Shadow Game: GhostWalkers, Book 1

Having read Christine Feehan’s Dark Hunter series I was keen to see what the GhostWalkers offered, happily, it offered it all for me and remains one of my all-time favourites series. I love the concept that is consistent throughout all the books in this series and has strong male & females characters. The suspense in these books are as fundamental to the story line as the romance, which leaves me feeling fully satisfied once the read has come to the and allows me to be fully engaged for the duration of the story.

Lily & Ryland are fantastic and believable characters and a great to introduce us to the Ghostwalkers. Their contrasting personalities, ( Ryland the gentle warrior, well when it comes to Lily any way) and Lily with keen intelligence and her sweet innocent to the harsh reality show us a couple that help each other grow and become stronger as a couple.

We meet many of the characters from Team 1 that are explored more fully in the up and coming series this gives you a sense of meeting new friends feeling what they feel as the plot unfolds. So get ready for wonderful ride full of thrills, passion , love, fear, betrayal , friendship … I think you get the idea an honestly what more could a reader/ listener want

Great story

I just wish I could get all the books in the series as I just love it. a bit to much discription on the sex but this does not take away from the real story. keep them coming.

Struggled to Finish!

I was intrigued by the story thought it would be an action thriller type book, Unfortunately it turned out to be Mills and Boon mush...a bit cringe. I liked the narrator but not enough to finish the book.

Brilliant mix of Sci fi and romance

I loved the Sci fi storyline and the neuroscience/psychological basis of the mystery that edged into paranormal abilities. The romance in that background, worked so well with the questions it raised about their entanglement and attraction. The main characters were interesting and their backstories definitely gave an extra edge to things, as well as the supporting characters who were all interesting and increased the mystery nicely. Great book and brilliantly spicy.

Spoilt

It’s a typical Christine book, but the narrator lets it down. Whilst the man does his job the book would benefit from dual narration as his version of the women’s voices and accents come across mocking and detracts from the book and I lost interest and just gave up
