Simply magnificent
I thoroughly enjoyed it so so much from the story line, the whole build up to it and the way it ended. Gosh! Feels like it has been ages since I invested this much on a book! The narrator was simply perfect. Like the cherry on the top!

Important. Beautiful.
How utterly refreshing, emotional and addictive this was. The performance is simply stunning. The structure and unfolding of the story is something to read, and reread again. What else has this person written? I want to read it all.

One of the best books I’ve listened to.
I absolutely loved this book from the very beginning.
You could feel the glamour, the seedy side of old Hollywood and the pain of hiding secrets relationships.
What a wonderful story and the narration was superb throughout.

Fascinating story and characters
I found the old Hollywood characters fascinating and the story gripping. I thought the narrators were convincing and pleasant to listen to. However, I did find the constant declarations of love and psychoanalysis a bit tedious at points and skipped over them but did enjoy the book overall.

So good! If Marilyn had lived on.
Reminiscent of the wonderful life of our Marilyn Monroe. If she had lived to be 90 could her life have been like this. We really get to know the life behind the star that is Evelyn Hugo. I loved this book and finished it in 2 days. It flew through the decades and I felt like I was there every step of the way. The love story woven through those decades felt pure, hopeful and real.
Do yourselves a favour and listen to this wonderful book.
