Summary

The Greatcoats are back - and this time it's personal.

How do you kill a Saint? Falcio, Brasti and Kest are about to find out, as someone is doing just that, and they've started with a friend.

The Dukes were already looking for ways to weasel out of their promise to put Aline on her father's throne - but with Saints turning up dead and Church Inquisitors pushing for control, rumours are spreading that the gods themselves oppose her ascension.

The only way Falcio can stop the country turning into a vicious theocracy is to find and stop the Saint killer - but his only clue is the iron mask encasing the head of the Saint of Mercy, which prevents her from speaking. And even if he can find the murderer, he will still have to face them in battle - and this may be a duel that no swordsman, no matter how skilled, can win.

Highly entertaining.

Book three is as entertaining as book one, if anything the characters are now more familiar and carry the story.

Great read!

This book made me laugh out loud and made tears run down my cheeks. And I cant praise the narrator enough. I cant wait to start listening to the next book.

Another great addition to the series!

I have loved this book as well as the others that came before it. If you loved the first and second you'll love this one too!

Good listen

Excellent blend of cultures, myth and fencing though I'm curious what lies beyond this land?

Awesome

I laughed, I cried, I wanted more.
Good job there's another one.

Joe Jameson is one of the best narrators and Sebastien de Castell is now among my all time favourite authors.

One of my favorite books in the fantasy genre

fantastic story with good characters and story where you don't really know what will happen makes you just want to hear more and more. The feelings, the thoughts also feel "authentic" in what a person would think and feel about the things they go through in the book.

Recommend this to all my friends and acquaintances who love fantasy books.

Well written

While i got a bit sick of everyone’s smart mouth, this was a well written story. The plot is original, but the characters grated on me a little after a while.

Best of series so far as author intended.

In books as with films I often find sequels just don’t have the same magic as the first. The first time you get to know those characters and the world you grow to love.

But here Sebastian bring them all to new levels. Creating the best in the series to date. His comments of aiming for that, I can assure you are well met.
