Summary
Twelve-year-old Ji-li Jiang has brains, friends, and a bright future. Then Mao Zedong launches China’s infamous Cultural Revolution. A Teenagers account of the Cultural Revolution
This autobiographical account of the chaos, and casual cruelties of the Cultural Revolution in Mao's heyday is a gripping listen. The tension and fear are palpable, but also the enthusiasm and idealism of youth to build a new China.
