Knowing she was seen as a threat to the queen she served, Lady Katherine Grey, legitimate heir to the throne, longs only for the comfort of a loving marriage and a quiet life far from the intrigue of the Tudor court. After seeing her sister become the pawn of their parents and others seeking royal power and then lose their lives for it, she is determined to avoid the vicious struggles over power and religion that dominate Queen Elizabeth's court. Until she finds love - then Kat is willing to risk it all, even life in prison.

Conflicted

I read book 1 and was ambivalent, but the topic interested me so I read this one. Two factual errors in the first few paragraphs were offputting One was for plot reasons, the other was simply wrong. It was OK. Some good info, a bit romance novel-ish.

Excellent

Would you listen to Prisoner of the Queen again? Why?

I really enjoyed this book, the reader lacked any kind of personality and seemed distant from the character, sad. But interesting story. Don't think I'd listen again.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Prisoner of the Queen?

The pure jealousy the queen had toward the main character had me despising her even more than I did already, the taking away of her youngest child was a strong moment.

Have you listened to any of Corrie James’s other performances? How does this one compare?

This was the first book of this author I'd listened to..

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I found it heart breaking, though I never actually shed tears, I did get emotional.
