Summary

A dark, compelling new thriller from best-selling authors Sarah A. Denzil and Anni Taylor

Young backpackers Gemma and Hayley arrive at a remote fruit farm in Australia’s Northern Territory, out of money and desperate for work.

The weeks go on, a blur of fruit picking, parties, campfires and wading beneath waterfalls in the nearby hot springs. Until the night the girls find themselves on a dark highway, bruised and bloodied.

Senior Detective Bronwen McKay and psychologist Megan Arlotti question the terrified girls. But Hayley and Gemma are telling two very different stories of what happened to them over the past three months.

Which story is the truth, and what are the girls covering up? A suspenseful thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end.

Great narration!

I bought this in the sale as something to read until I got my credit, and I'm glad I picked it up. Unwrapping the mystery of what happened to the girls, and putting pieces of the puzzle together in your mind keeps you turning the pages (Or the audio version of it atleast). Things do get a little unbelievable towards the very end but out of a 12 and a half hour book, I loved about 11 hours of it. This is a decent read and even though I got it on daily deal, I'd have been happy to spend a credit on it. The narration is top notch and
Aimee Horne does a fantastic job of giving each character a different way of speaking so you can easily define who is speaking and the emotion they are feeling.

Two girls giving a different story about what happened to them after they were found being chased by a man down a highway. They don't seem to want to talk to eachother and one of them suffers memory loss.

What could have happened to them while working on a mango farm where the owner seems to treat his workers like family and lets them party and have days down at the waterfall? How did they get to the state they were found in?

Enjoyable.

Interesting plot line with lots of twists and turns. I like to judge a book on whether I can picture it in my head and I could with this story. Good solid characters.

Would make a great movie!

Got it as a deal of the day. I was a bit dubious, the reviews weren't really glowing, but I really enjoyed it. If you accept that it is very far fetched you will enjoy it more. The narrator is excellent. I listened to it in two days so it really engaged me.

Disappointing

This book started well and had me hooked for a while, then began to go off. By the end I was hardly listening and didn't care what happened. It got a bit silly. I wish authors would come up with endings instead of resorting to a shoot out.

some grammatical errors but generally not bad

It was fine for a quick read. The odd grammatical/syntax errors were slightly jarring as were the occasionally unrealistic exposition of the plot by the characters. However it had a good pace and some interesting twists and turns.

Enjoyable - kept me entertained

Some of the plot seems implausible but bear with it. I don't want to give anything away but it's a good story, well told, and after you finish it you'll remember that real life can be like the scenario in the novel.
