Summary

An intriguing weave of personalities through history and time.
As ever Barbara Erskine pushes the relationships of perception. Who are we? Where are we in dreams, meditation.....?
And for me, it's great to have an author that can build a story around these questions.
However, towards the end I was finding that I wanted a shorter story.

Went on too long
I like Barbara Erskine as an author and have read a few of her books and this is a great idea. But it went on way too long, too many people getting killed in car accidents etc ,, it just isnt very realistic so towards the last third of the book I just finished it out a sense of duty really. As I said great subject but a generation too long.

Great Story with disappointing ending
I was totally gripped by this from the beginning. But at the end it’s as though she’s run out of ideas so it has to stop. It’s a long story possibly too long, but it deserved a much better ending!

Dismal
Nothing like as interesting as other Barbara Erskine novels. Quite boring and not engaging.
The narration is awful, read out as though reading a book to a bunch of disinterested 10 year olds.

Disappointing
Let me start with congratulating the reader, her performance was amazing and can’t fault her at all.
However, even though I love Barbara Erskine’s books, this was so bad. The story was extremely farfetched (much more than any other of her books), the main character was not likeable at any stage, the ending absolutely horrible as there is basically no ending, it was just bad. Wouldn’t waste so many hours on it if I knew ahead :(

I love Barbara Erskin but this isn't my favourite
I love Barbara Erskins books. This one though I struggled with at times. it's very, very long. I found it a bit depressing to listen to, and was glad to get to the end. Its a great story, but it lost me at times.

As always... excellent.
Another fantastic book from Barbara Erskine. she is a brilliant author and I'm always in awe at her books.
10/10 for the narrator. A very enjoyable and very long book to listen to while I work.

On the Edge of darkness
I loved this story. Entwining ancient Celtic history with the twentieth century.
Mystical, magical and suspenseful.
Elaine Claxton is an excellent narrator, very easy to listen too and I felt she bought the individual characters to life.
I really couldn’t stop listening!
Recommend to anyone who enjoys ‘a time slip’ story, something Barbara Erskine does so very well!
