Summary
Welcome to a hen do where revenge is served colder than a frozen margarita…
Cara Carmichael’s bestie is finally getting hitched, and she’s over the moon because it means one thing… Whoah, they’re going to Ibiza! Mums on Tour: ditching kids, partners and better judgement for a long-weekend of sun, sea, and sex…y support pants. What could possibly go ‘Pete Tong’?
Lazy days, crazy nights and child-free hangovers sound like hedonistic heaven – but it turns out you can get into a hell of a lot of trouble on the party island where rules are meant to be broken.
For Cara, it’s a chance to forget about her messy divorce and explosive feud with a stardom-seeking sister and Pina-Colada pickled mother. Swapping emotional baggage for 10kg of hand luggage, she soon realises even on holiday, the darkness of your past has an alarming way of catching up with you.
When a twist of fate causes feathers to fly – a dangerous opportunity for retribution arises. Faced with secrets, lies, and betrayal – does it pay to be a good egg, or do bad chicks reign supreme?
Four friends, three nights, two murders – one heck of an adventure. A rollocking rollercoaster ride from Ibiza to Vegas, via Cheshire, Mother Hens will make you laugh, wince, and wonder what any of us are really capable of when push comes to shove…

I don’t know why but I just loved it!
Not my usual listen, extremely absurd, unrealistic and quite frankly disturbing story line, but I just absolutely loved it! Perhaps not to some peoples tastes but I personally adore Laura Brydon, I think she is an excellent narrator! If you’re on the fence give it a go, it’s so strange it’s genius!

Really surprised with where it went
Not my normal genre but loved this. An easy listen with surprising twists in a mums on tour holiday! I admittedly didn’t read any blurb - just listened because I follow Sophie online - glad I did! Hoping for more fiction!

It started off so well
It starts off so we’ll and it’s funny, and relatable at the start, even 1/2 way through then it gets totally far fetched. It’s a shame I too wanted to love it as I love Sophie’s content and you could see that at the beginning, but it went so off track for me.
Ironically It’s an easy holiday book.

Narration hard to listen to
I was really looking forward to this book and could probably get on board with the absurdity of the plot were it not for the awful narration. The voices of the characters grated the whole way through to the point I almost gave up on it. Such a shame as I’m sure much of the humour felt tedious rather than fun because of the delivery. Think this would be a fun read rather than listen.

Fantastically ridiculous fun!
I really, really enjoyed this book. Yes, it descends into a ridiculous story but it is fun and kept me second guessing, I did not see the twists coming. I did struggle with the narrator's voice, I felt it didn't give the book justice, it was a younger voice than I imagined the main character to sound. But I just concentrated on the storyline and fantastic descriptions. I cannot wait for the next fictional book from Sophie!

LOL Inducing!
It’s a laugh riot from the beginning, love the plot twist.
I was irritated by the narrator’s voice to begin with but, it’s gets better, just let yourself get absorbed into the story.

Thirty-somethings calamitous hen-weekend
Absolutely hilarious, but also poignant. The worst family in the world coupled with your best friends. A disaster at every turn. I was crying with laughter, but could also feel the pain and embarrassment. What do you do when your elderly mother dons sparkly hot-pants for a night on the tiles!
