A great start to the series
The start of another fantastic new trilogy from Tessa Hale and if Legacy of Shadows is anything to go by, Supernaturals of Castle Academy is shaping up to be my favourite one so far. If anyone asked me, paranormal and reverse harem would be low down on my list of favourite tropes to read but somehow Tessa Hale has managed to combine both these tropes with a fabulous cast of characters who I can’t help but love to the extent that I can’t get enough of her books. With a fantastic suspense filled plot, laced with twists, turns and secrets and engaging characters such as we have with this book, they are quickly becoming one of my guilty pleasures in life even if she does torment her readers with cliff hangers from hell.
Vanessa Moyen is a new to me narrator but she provided a great portrayal of the teenage Tessa bringing this book to life and making for an enjoyable listening experience on my daily commute. Definitely a narrator I’d have no hesitation listening to in future should the opportunity arise.

Dive into a new paranormal story
It becomes very clear from the beginning that Leighton has had a difficult life.
We get introduced to the guys and their world slowly (very slowly) to the point where we get frustrated along with Leighton about all the secrets and deceit. Colt - the best friend from her childhood. Dash - the sweet and kind one. Declan - the understanding one - my favourite. Ronan - the protective one. Trace - the grumpy one.
Leighton is the type of heroine to run away when she’s overwhelmed. While people may be frustrated with this, I actually applaud Tessa Hale for being so reflective and intentional or not shows people it’s ok to not be strong all the time.
Vanessa Moyen is a new to me narrator. She did a brilliant job of delivering Leighton’s emotions and bringing the story to life.
What are you waiting for? Dive into unravelling the secrets with our FMC, come face to face with danger at every turn and discover a whole new world …
