Summary

New home. New life. New beginning. Love affairs can blossom in the most unlikely places....

A heart-warming, moving and funny tale.

When Kitty inherits Bluebell Lodge from her grandmother, she soon realises there’s an awful lot to learn about farming. Still, at least the locals seem friendly, not least her handsome neighbour Tom...But just as Kitty is beginning to find her feet, and the possibility of love, the discovery of a long-hidden diary by a mysterious character called Violet changes everything.

Who is Violet, and what is her message for Kitty? As Kitty fills in the lost pieces of her family jigsaw and discovers some shocking revelations, will her countryside dream and blossoming relationship fall to pieces?

When it comes to life in the country, nothing is ever quite as it seems....

The past. It has a weird way of telling its story.

It was a sentimental story. I guess in some respect not untrue.
Narration was excellent and writer gave us a lovely tale. Looking forward to her next book.

Light fun, easy to read/listen chic lit

If you’re after a nice gentle story that weaves in and out, then this is definitely one for you. Some of the storylines were more obvious than others, but there were some good twists and turnsthat I didn’t get until we actually got there. It kept me entertained and I wanted to continue listening. There were a few Unlikely events, all things, the heroin probably would’ve done that weren’t done … but it didn’t hinder the story.

Easy listening

I listen to a lot of books and sometimes I like a gentle easy listen. This was a great book for that.
It did make me cry in a couple of places, but that was only because I associated with the topic.
A feel good light story.

GREAT CHICKLIT LISTEN 4 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

This book was a great listen. I really enjoyed it and could not stop listening . It was full of twists and turns which were basically all family secrets. I worked out some secrets whilst overs surprised me.

∆∆∆ The dates felt off so I listened to the beginning again and it then made sense as It is set in NOVEMBER 1985 ∆∆∆

I have found that listens by Christie Barlow are great 👍
I am used to the narrator Penny Scott Andrews and she did her job well.
This was a Free listen in the 'Plus Catalogue ' but YES I do recommend this book😀
