Summary

In this entertaining and inspirational memoir, Hollywood legend Dick Van Dyke shares his secret to staying resilient in old age.

Beloved Hollywood icon Dick Van Dyke will celebrate his 90th birthday in December 2015. He's an established legend, having starred in Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and The Dick Van Dyke Show. And yet he's still keeping himself busy, entertaining America on television, in movies, on the stage, and on social media. Everyone wonders, "How does he do it?" For the first time, Van Dyke shares his secrets and tips on old age - just keep moving.

With a fun and folksy way of addressing its audience, Keep Moving serves as an instruction audiobook on how to embrace old age with a positive attitude. The chapters are filled with exclusive personal anecdotes that explore various themes on aging: how to adapt to the physical and social changes, deal with loss of friends and loved ones, stay current, fall in love again, and "keep moving" every day like there's no tomorrow.

Fairly down to earth

Enjoyed this, overall. Not too Hollywood and common sense comments within. Some points to contemplatie.

A delightful book

Thoroughly enjoyed listening to Dick Van Dyke’s familiar and comforting voice as he shares his memoirs and musings on ageing well. He has such a wonderful attitude towards both living and ageing well, it’s contagious.

Loved it

What a warm fun audio about a man who just still amazes me all these years later. The warmth as kids I felt watching him in Mary Poppins comes across beautifully in this audio and I can’t say anything bad about this as I just loved it.

Entertaining and human

I enjoyed the time spent listening to concepts which in your bones you know already to some degree - have a passion, be kind, be curious, keep moving growing learning. The life stories and anecdotes are told with a perceptible twinkle in the eye, that you can hear in the voice. A great reading, with meaningful stories - An enjoyable listen.

Joyous and uplifting.

I grew up loving Dick Van Dyke. He always seemed to me to be a genuinely lovely man. His autobiography has done nothing to sway my mind. It has done the opposite.

At a time when I am feeling a little, his voice is like a comforting father’s and his stories uplifting.

I have tried to listen to other autobiographies narrated by the authors and many fail to capture me. Some I just can’t listen to as they aren’t natural ‘readers’ of stories. This book was pure joy to listen to. It was as if he was just reminiscing naturally.

His life stories are life lessons. Amazing.
