Summary
Where others see doom, he sees opportunity. Hell Difficulty? More like a chance to thrive.
Nathaniel's bus ride was supposed to be just another boring commute. Wrong. Now, he, 23 fellow passengers, and a corgi named Biscuit, are stuck in a "Hell Difficulty" Tutorial, battling monsters and leveling up to survive.
Easy difficulty, anyone can handle. Normal difficulty, you've got to put up a fight to get by. Hard difficulty is where only the tough ones last. And Hell? That's where you have to be a bit out of your mind!
With his terrifying talent for mana manipulation, Nathaniel decides to invest every stat point into mana. Attribute imbalance be damned. It will either kill him before the monsters and his enemies can, or turn him into one of the most powerful beings within the system.
Never underestimate the guy who has so much Mana it should kill him...
Follow Nathaniel's crazy journey as he takes on nightmarish foes and teams up with a far-from-normal group of bus passengers in this action-packed LitRPG Adventure. He must outsmart the odds, survive, and emerge stronger than anyone else!
Perfect for fans of The Primal Hunter, Defiance of the Fall, and Apocalypse: Generic System. Grab your copy today!

Fun
Interesting to see a somewhat dislikable main character that isn’t just a full murder hobo.

Fantastic start
I was originally a little hesitate with this one. /he MC came across as quite unlikeable at first, that usally puts me off even very good stories, which this is, but as I continued to listen he grew on me and I began to understand what the author was going for and ended up really enjoying both him and the story. looking forward to the next in the series

Main Character Puts me Off
I really wanted to like this book but the MC really put me off, he is more than flawed, probably a sociopath. Saying that though, if you carry on with the book the MC's actions/way of thinking kind of make sense, it's getting past the first couple of hours that is a chore. It has a good premise and is executed well, good world building and the leveling system is easy enough to understand.
Not sure if I will get the next in the series.

Its good
Differently an investing book, can't wait to get started on the next one. All the characters are detailed ant are unique. Ti takes some time to get used to the MC but by the end I liked him a lot. The story keeps your attention the entire time and makes sure that everything progresses well.

Unlikeable MC
I personally don't mind flawed main characters, but god! Nathaniel (MC) is or at least almost a sociopath. Didn't like this. If this character trait were toned down, the book would have received a five star rating. But if you can ignore how Nathaniel (MC) acts and behaves, the book is good.

Talented VA but poor choice for MC
Its a good story but I can't get over how young and wimpy the MC sounds compared to others in his age group. Tess, someone of equal age, sounds so mature. After having read the book elsewhere and now listening to the audiobook I'm very dissapointed.

Love? Hate? Who cares when your in hell difficulty!
Good story line, interesting main character and definitely room for a bigger story arc. I like the dark edginess in the story. definitely keen for a second one!

Unlikable MC, confusing narrative
At the time of this review I am 22 chapters into the book and seriously considering whether to stick with it or not.
I like the premise of the story, the setting and some characters were interesting as well as the system for skill progression etc.
So far the MC is completely unlikable, which is not always a bad thing but here we don't get any background into them and it just starts with them being a cold and calculating sociopath that honestly seems like an edgelord iamverybadass character trying too hard when I think the vibe of the character was meant to come across more different.
The style of writing is confusing, we hear it from the MCs first person perspective and from the narration it makes it difficult to differentiate between the characters internal monologue and when they are speaking. I have no issues with the actual performance of the narrator but I think it's the formatting of the typed version has led to issues with grammar etc.
the events surrounding the MC seem a bit haphazard, one minute they are talking to their friend who was on the bus with them then the next they are transported and the friend is not mentioned again until several in book time hours later as if they ceased to exist until plot was required.
I may continue this book and if I feel different then I will change this review but at the moment 2/5 overall.

Wasn’t able to finish
I gave up half way. It’s a well written book and narrator is good but the main character is just horrible. I can’t enjoy a book when all I can think of is how I hate that dude and how I would love to kick his teeth in.
