Summary
Here, from New York Times best-selling historian Francis Russell, is the dramatic story of Germany - from the rise of Charlemagne to the age of Martin Luther, from the 30 Years' War to the iron rule of Otto von Bismarck, and from the formation of the Weimar Republic to the fighting of two world wars.

I do not recommend this book
Too general and biased. In the final part of the book, when the author describes WWII for some weird reason mentioned just Russia not the Soviet Union. 100 % of Ukrainian and Belarusian territories where occupied by Germany and suffering for their population were enormous. On the other side Russia, what was part of the soviet union back in that day, was just partly occupied. So many nations what were part of soviet union were trapped in WWII as well, but nothing of it mentioned in the book and the victory in the war for some weird reason goes straight forward to that one who started it in the first place.
Soviet union and the third reign are the worst that happened to the Europe in XX century
