Enjoyable Listen

It was an easy listen, it hooked me quickly. I did find it a little cliché and guessed some of the ending. The characters were well written and the narrator was excellent. well worth a listen.

Thoroughly enjoyed this story

I didn’t know where this story was going, initially, but enjoyed Ian Bliss’ narration of Sarah Bailey’s description of a surgeon’s description of his plan to end his life when a tragic event suddenly puts a twist of fate into play and turns his life around. Sarah Bailey is a talented author who keeps you engaged throughout this adventure then allows you a large sigh of relief and a smirk as the story takes a wonderful turn at the end. Loved every minute of this tale.. will be watching for more from this Ozzie duo… can’t wait for the film!

Good enough

Good enough, but as someone else said, characters and story a bit cliche. Easy listening though, and good narration

Exceptional the way in which every character was linked in the end. The scenario that played out was believeable A very neat little mystery.

Novel enhanced by narrator

Our anti hero Pauley is troubled. I am troubled by his name but I grew to like him and was on his side. The narrator performed the story and enhanced the thriller which revolves round our troubled Pauley?

I was absorbed by this tale and did not unravel the who and why they dunnit until the final chapters.

My criticism would be the repetitive writing style.. Pauley did this and Pauley did that are starting sentences over and over. It may have been a style choice to emphasise the characters approach to life.

I would like to read more by the author.

Crime Novel

Story line doesn’t make sense in places ? But overall a good story that started off as a suicide story ended up a crime thriller. My biggest criticism of this book was the main character’s name - Paulie, like a brain worm - couldn’t listen to it in one go as I could not envisage a grown man called Paulie and obviously as a main character it’s said a lot - I remember it as the Paulie story.

Entertaining

This was a slightly different story… a suicide gone wrong, leading to a whole unraveling of a mystery with several twists. So actually entertaining.
Really well narrated
