Not the best in the series, but better than most!
I avidly listen to all Penny Reid’s book and this one is not a disappointment. I have to admit it’s not her best in the series, and for me it did lag a bit in the middle. I think this is probably because this book is all about the relationship and the actual plot line was bit weaker than normal so there was not the added interest of that to keep the book flowing. However as this writer on a bad day is still outstanding, and way superior to so many others in this field, I am not about to deduct stars for being slightly less than perfect.

Perfect addition that's beautifully read
So I read this first in tree-book, then e-book and now on audio. On each reading I found different things I'd missed previously
If you've not read this quirky, funny, intelligent book give yourself a shake, go read it now. Though if you've not read the series I can recommend reading in order as each book, despite being a standalone story, has spoilers for the earlier ones.
Go on... go read...now!

Wonderful! Charming, clever heartwarming and funny
I loved, loved, loved every word. The characters were so vivid and I was enthralled by all their idiosyncrasies and charm. So many laughs as well as heart-in-mouth moments. As ever it was a pleasure to meet up with the rest of the cast from the previous books, too. Narration was amazing as ever. I can’t wait to start the next book.

One of my favourite Penny Reid books
4.5*
I can't help it, I just adore everything Penny Reid puts out. I think I might be biased. The mix of smart and funny, sexy and sometimes angsty she puts together to make her stories hooks me in and holds me tight. This is the 14th book of hers I have read and I have yet to be let down in any great way. Matt and Marie, well I didn't see them together at all. But it worked. The slow burn friends to lovers romance..it was everything. And their friendship was so wholesome, even though they were both into each other the whole time. SO CUTE.

I love nerds
I have a real thing for smart nerdy men. Marie and Matt were everything! I enjoyed listening to this story more than when I physically read it a few years ago, Joy Nash is a fantastic narrator. However I don't know why the it says there's a male narrator for Matt's POV in the epilogue, because there isn't, and that was disappointing.
