Summary
Please note that this audiobook contains explicit language and content some listeners may find distressing.
The memoir from the real woman behind the leopard print, for real women everywhere.
As one-fifth of the iconic Spice Girls and judge on X Factor and America's Got Talent, Melanie Brown, aka Scary Spice, has been an international star since the age of 19. And yet there are sides of Mel that no one has ever seen or really known.
Brutally Honest is an exposé of the struggles and acute pain that lay behind the glamour and success. With deep personal insight, remarkable frankness and Melanie’s trademark Yorkshire humour, this audiobook removes the mask of fame and reveals the mother, wife and daughter behind the Spice Girl everyone thinks they know.
The audiobook edition features narration from Melanie, her daughter, Phoenix, and her mother, Andrea.

Brilliant.... perfect Title!
Really opens your eyes that super stars and the famous, also get abused, gas lighted, made to feel less than, useless and worthless,
Brilliantly written,
An honest truthful book of a woman’s self worth being destroyed by a leach and narcissist, I applaud you Melanie Brown, for helping other’s by telling your story,

A soul on show
I was riveted with this biography from beginning to end. Mel B is just so honest and still sounding so raw. I really hope that getting her true self out there has been a cathartic experience for her.
This book made me laugh and cry in equal measure.
The narration was fantastic. I thought it was great that Mel’s mum and daughter also gave their point of view. The end interview was also a bonus and gave more insight into the book.
This book has made me question things around me and realise how easily people of all walks of life can become ghosts in their own lives. Very brave and beautifully written.

A must read
This book is amazing. It does exactly what it says and Mel is brutally honest. You’re shocked, angry, surprised and above all captivated whilst listening to Mel’s story. Listening to Phoenix tell her story was quite heart wrenching, but also incredibly brave. Zara Abraham’s narration is exquisite and a top choice for this book. I loved it and have nothing but respect and admiration for Mel.

Absolutely Shocked
This book put me through so many emotions at once! The opening chapter had my mouth open for a little while. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing and how honest Mel B was. The book is exactly what it says on the tin! I can’t believe the rollercoaster she went through. I really recommend this book because we sometimes forget that celebrities are real people too. I have always admired Mel for how she always looked good and kept in shape but I had no idea the pain she went through! I have so much more love for her, what a strong lady and a lovely mother. No one is perfect, we all have our flaws but it’s what we choose to do with our lives when we fall that makes us great! Mel B is one strong lady and she taught me that “you know you have to be strong when being strong is the only option you have”. Go buy this book xxx

Just wow
I didn't know all this happened to Mel B, incredibly moving and had me in tears a few times. A wonderful read/listen. The narrator is brilliant. Well worth buying and listening too. She really is an incredibly strong woman. The saying 'don't judge a book by it's cover' is so true here. The strength it took to get out of such an abusive relationship and to go through all of it with the media and public watching, divorce is bad enough let alone everyone having their opinion but to do all this knowing it will be made public.

Brutally honest is the perfect title.
I really loved this book. I love the vulnerability she shared through the painful memories and emotions born as a result. She reminds us of the most important thing in the world. "see me in you". Why judge her journey when you can learn from her story. The love story between her and Eddie is so bitter sweet. Thank you for all that you dared to share. Inspiring!

Brilliant. Just Brilliant
Grew up with Mel B and the spice girls and always respected her...but reading this book was like reading a book of my life in my abusive relationship. Mel and the Author have done a fantastic job and the narrator couldn't be a better match. Great read and representation of what people suffer behind closed doors.

fantastic
fabulous book.
not a woe is me book.
it's an emotional journey of a person who got in a messy situation and had to battle to free herself.
it's like she's sitting in the room with you having a chat over a cup of tea!
I believe everyone should listen to this book especially young girls and women in domestic abuse situations.
I wasn't interested at first, poor Spice girl blah, was my thinking. I'm glad I listened and was pleased to be proven wrong. inspiring.

As it says on the tin
Brutally honest is definitely the correct title, I read a lot of biographies however this is probably the most honest book so far. Amazing!
