Funny & frustrating

I can't work out what the story is. Moreover, I can't work out why it needed to be told.

A Curate's Egg

Mostly an enjoyably amusing listen. Occasionally laugh out loud funny, but a few chapters near the end of the book "proper", and at the beginning of the epilogues, were hard going, and better suited to the physical version. Which is quite ironic, for reasons that will become clear as you listen.

Hilarious and crazy.

This is a bizarre and hilarious book. It had me laughing out loud, sometimes from his surreal story, other times because of his strange mind.

The "Ayoadeverse" like marvel but better.

The terrance malick social media bit alone is just incredible, ayoade makes so many amazing references that make you realise he KNOWS his shit. He deals with such a depth of emotion and gives us a real insight into what it's like to be part of 'the movie biz'. Anyone looking to get into film needs this, in fact it should be on all university film study curriculums.

Okay so I get it and I know it's ironic and stuff

This would be funny if it was shorter, but, after a while, once you get the whole idea it just repeats in the same way. Like the guy but too much of this is like eating too much cheese, great at first, then gets a bit samey and ultimately you start wondering why you bought so much cheese. Not that this book is cheesy. But he should make another film - his other two where good.

Double and Squeak -- An Acceptable Piece of Art

Ayoade.

I wish I could write a book not quite as good as this, because it would be great to have accomplished something on as high a level as this book... but not quite as good because I like this book so much I wouldn't want to better it.
Maybe Alexander the Great wouldn't weep because there was no more land to conquer if he had just conquered a little bit less.

Ayoade.

Ayoade does it again!

I loved it, but agree somewhat with other reviews - this is a book for fans who appreciate Ayoade's acerbic wit and unique sense of irony. Quirky but brilliant!

Fine but not for Hard of hearing.

I looked forward to CD. He's as funny as normal. The only problem I had is his voice is soft so I missed some punch lines. If your hearing is OK or you use headphones in bed, this is a fine CD.
