Summary

The follow-up to the hugely popular science fiction action-adventure All Systems Red

Artificial Condition continues The Murderbot Diaries, a science fiction series that tackles questions of the ethics of sentient robotics. It appeals to fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans. "As a heartless killing machine, I was a complete failure."

It has a dark past - one in which a number of humans were killed. A past that caused it to christen itself "Murderbot." But it has only vague memories of the massacre that spawned that title, and it wants to know more.

Teaming up with a Research Transport vessel named ART (you don't want to know what the "A" stands for), Murderbot heads to the mining facility where it went rogue.

What it discovers will forever change the way it thinks.

Cleverly done…

I do like a good series where I can get my teeth into. Never thought that a MurderBot would be that thing…

Who doesn't love sassy bots? :D

Wonderfully written and narrated. The characters are so funny and sassy, it was a joy to listen to. Such a refreshing sci-fi series!

Artificial Condition

A lively and fun tale of discovery for Murder Bot. The first 3 books were on a free offer but to be honest I will be buying the forth and in all likelihood the full series. Couldn't put it down.

Brilliant series

Normally I am limited with audiobooks because I am quite picky with narrators. This series is wonderfully read and constantly gripping. I cannot wait for the next installment

Great SF

I can see why Ann Leckie gave her recommendation There were echoes of Imperial Radch. All in all a good listen.

another great addition to the series

this was, again, excellent , a short continuation from book 1, improvements on every level from writing to humour to character and story development . if you enjoyed the first , this is much the same , if even a bit better

Enter: ART

Having really enjoyed the first of these, I immediately ate the second— the standout highlight is the introduction of ART, and the friction/sniping/friendship between ART and Murderbot. The B plot of the adventure isn’t as compelling as in bk1, but the setup of MB’s emotional (!) evolution is doing the heavy lifting here. Onto bk3!

A fun sequel

A fun and funny sequel to the first slightly rushed feeling book. This book was short but a slower pace and lots of character building.

Funny and addictive

I love the world building and the autistic feeling robot. Just adorable. This gets exciting and keeps you engaged. I’ve listened to the first 5 books now and I’m bought the 6th one.
