really enjoyed it. historical facts made it more believable. Good narration, left wanting more.....sequel perhaps??

Far fetched but enjoyable

This book started really well and seemed very promising but then got more and more far fetched. Especially with the input from the 'powers that be'.
That being said it was enjoyable with a few funny moments so made a nice break from the norm.
The narration was good although some of the characters voices started to grate after a while. If the narrator had used her own voice all the way through it would have been a much easier listen.

Good Story - Awful Accents

The story was quite good but the narrator spoilt it for me. Although her natural voice is lovely the accents were so bad I had to skip through the Yorkshire section because it irritated me so much. Might be worth the narrator taking a trip to Sheffield to see that accents have moved on a bit since the 18th century. I'm from York and could barely understand some of it. Other than that quite an interesting story with a bit of humour thrown in.
