Life Changing Read!

I think everyone goes through a burnout stage in life and its hard to understand why it happens and how. This book helped me understand a lot more about myself and why I get burnt out at times. Its essential to get to the core of the problems so that we are able to fix them and do better in the future. Really helpful book.

Great timing

As I sat at my cluttered desk this last week listening to this book on my Alexa, I was overwhelmed by the never-ending tasks around me. Each day recently has been an uphill battle and honestly causing me to want to call out of work each day. The burnout had arrived and I did not know how to get out from under it. While I listened to this book, I came to realize that one of the strategies that resonated with me was micro-breaks and micro-chillers. I thought the only time to recharge was to take time off and recharge. Instead, the book shows that you can take these micro-breaks during the day. I started incorporating meditation and walks into my day for at least 20 minutes. I noticed this has helped me regain my focus and not feel like I am just staring at my computer.

Learning to recognize the signs of burnout and then understanding how to start breaking free of it is the main focus of this book and if you do what the author suggests, you can begin to see immediate results that start to make you feel ambitious again instead of resentful. I am also learning that my food choices throughout the day also make me feel sluggish and I need to provide my body with more nutritious and energy-packed food to keep me moving and keep my mind sharp.

Great book by the author and highly recommend it.

I found this book both insightful and practical. I never thought of some of the life pressures as contributing to burnout and from the perspective of a manager it has taught me lots to look out for both in myself and my team.
