Shaley Howard was born and raised in Portland Oregon. Her book, Excuse Me, Sir! Memoir of a Butch was launched on October 11, National Coming Out Day. She is an award-winning activist in the LGBTQ+ community and works constantly for LGBTQ+ equality and basic rights. Shaley is also an addict in recovery and speaks openly about her rocky road with addiction. She believes if more people speak out about addiction and strive to remove the negative stigma attached to it in this culture, the more lives we can potentially save. Recover is for everyone. In her spare time Shaley loves hiking in the PNW, playing with her own dog Dingo, hanging with friends, and dressing up fancy for all sorts of fun galas and fundraisers.
