Martine Jane Roberts is a British author and writer. Based in the United Kingdom, she has lived in the small market town of Tring, Hertfordshire since birth. Martine first started writing short stories and essays while still at school. A lifelong disciple and follower of Jane Austen, Martine's books are set in the Regency era and revolve around the lives of Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet. Her first book, Mr Darcy's Struggle was penned to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Miss Austen’s Pride & Prejudice, which was published in 1813. Following Mr Darcy's Struggle with, Darcy to the Rescue, To Love Mr Darcy, Mr Darcy's Proposal, A Love Most Ardent and her latest offering, Mr Darcy's Reluctant Wife. Each book is a stand alone novel with new and exciting scenarios, featuring budding love and well placed wit. Mr Darcy's Proposal was voted Book Cover of the Year in 2018 after being nominated and voted on by the public. Born in 1957, she is a mother and grandmother, known for her charity work, poetry, dedication to her family and her faith.
