The world is on the brink of apocalypse. Zero Day has come. The only thing more terrifying than millions of spiders is the realisation that those spiders work as one. But among the government, there is dissent: do we try to kill all of the spiders, or do we gamble on Professor Guyer's theory that we need to kill only the queens?

For President Stephanie Pilgrim, it's an easy answer. She's gone as far as she can - more than two dozen American cities hit with tactical nukes, the country torn asunder - and the only answer is to believe in Professor Guyer.

Unfortunately, Ben Broussard and the military men who follow him don't agree, and Pilgrim, Guyer, and the loyal members of the government have to flee, leaving the question: what's more dangerous, the spiders or ourselves?

Would you try another book written by Ezekiel Boone or narrated by George Newbern?

While the author showed great promise with the first two books, this one unfortunately never lived up to the promise. I suspect that the success of the first two meant that this one had less preparation and did feel a bit lacking in depth, so some interesting storylines were never really developed, and the ending did come across as a bit rushed.

However the first two are really great and have done enough to make up for deficiencies with the ending, so would still recommend listening to the trilogy.

Good story, could of done with being more gory..
And was let down by the lack lustre end fight.

Good characters

Loved the first in the series, the mythology of nazca lines, good characters, well narrated etc. but felt the second was just a bridging instalment - not too much character development or more added to the storyline really, just more of the same; but I have to admit this finale did round it off well.

Not a 'horror' series in my eyes, falls into the trap of very samey descriptions (not much you can do with some spiders here, there & everywhere) but fun and entertaining nonetheless. And that's what you want sometimes. Very enjoyable overall.

Zero Day keeps up the tension as we follow the characters established in Skitter and the Hatching. Well read and well paced.

Great ending to a fine trilogy

I was really looking forward to this third book in the series, but the book has the feel that the writer was in a rush to conclude all of the different plot lines which spoiled it for me. I’m not saying that the book is not worth listening to I’m just feel that it was glossing over too much of the Interwoven plots to feel smoothly written.

Felt like the writer was in a rush to conclude all the plots
