It is 300 years since the world toppled on its axis and civilisation was destroyed. In this savagely reshaped world ruled by brigands and war makers, a rider seeks a lost city. Pursuing a dream to calm the violence in his soul, Jon Shannow, the brigand slayer, desires only peace. But from the Plague Lands emerges a fresh terror.

The Lord of the Pit and his hell-born army seek to plunge mankind into a new demonic era. Seemingly invincible, they make a fatal mistake: they take Shannow's woman for blood sacrifice. And find themselves facing the deadliest warrior of the new age: Jon Shannow - the Jerusalem Man.

I really enjoyed this book, as I have all over D.G stories, the main character has traits of waylander ( who I loved )
the narrator imo does a magnificent job ... I'm not sure why he's had some stick from previous reviews

After reading, and listening to the Drenai series, I didn't think I would (could) enjoy a book as much as I loved the tales of the Drenai. I was wrong.

No spoilers, but this is a rip roaring tale from start to finish, masterfully narrated, and I listened to it over two days, finding it hard to switch off.

Brilliant characters; heroes and villains, cravens and conquerors, magic, mystery and mirth.

Just do yourself a favour, download the book, grab a big bag of snacks, stick a 'Disturb at your own risk' sign on the door and enjoy.

Don't pass up this book!
