I really enjoyed the book and narrator. No two chapters were similar and the characters really good.

I loved this book - sometimes sad and sometimes funny but always captivating.I am sorry I have now finished it.
I am looking forward to seeing the movie of the book as soon as I am able to do so.

A wonderful book

An inspiring and personal listen about a woman who sets out to trek a wilderness trail, all alone! The writing was emotional and unique in how it dipped in between the past and present. I knew this book had already been made into a film, so wanted to have a listen before I watched it on screen. And even though the film did a pretty good job, the book is so much better! At times, listening to the book made me feel like I wanted to go on a trek myself...and then I'd listen to Cheryl describe her feet and I'd change my mind!

When I first saw this book I was sceptical- how could a woman walking for 3 months be interesting? Well I was surprised for sure. Whilst walking the Pacific Crest Trail Cheryl Strayed contemplates some complex issues since the death of her mother. She discovers harsh truths and colourful characters along her 1100 mile hike across the PCT. The film version is worth watching before or after the book as it stays true to its roots.

A life affirming read particularly or someone grieving.
