A destined prophecy: "The White Warrior will be one with Lucifer and God will weep."

Haunting visions and supernatural talents are the norm for the 16-year-old warrior, Jordan, and her mother Seeley. Together with their formidable angels they find themselves in peril when a wicked sorcerer is determined to fulfill the prophecy to his lord, Lucifer.

After an ominous vision of spirits inhabiting teenagers in a local school, Jordan enrolls in the social culture of teendom at Elma High to combat soulless demons. She encounters Mark, a mysterious new classmate, who is hell bent on keeping her unscathed from the forces of evil.

The battle between Heaven and Hell is escalating - and Earth is their battleground.

Ok so here's the thing, this was well written and a good story that flowed at a pace at certain points and at times i was really invested in the storytelling, but there was just something that I cannot put my finger on that prevented me from loving it. Maybe it was that I never felt connected to any of the characters.

Good first book

Would you be willing to try another book from Cathrina Constantine? Why or why not?

Possibly but it would be fairly low on my list as I have so many other good books to read.

What didn’t you like about Andrea Emmes’s performance?

She sounded like an electronic voice, the reading was quite unnatural.

Any additional comments?

An interesting story but a little confusing in places, with a lot of characters. It felt a bit like I was starting in the middle of a series. Jordan doesn't make a very convincing heroine. For someone with such power, she seems so careless and often makes things worse instead of helping. I enjoyed the different relationships she had with her possible boyfriend, Thrill, and her angel, Marcus.
I received this audiobook at no-cost from Audiobookworm Promotions. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

This has been in my library for a while now, I have tried to listen a few times but never quite got far.
STOP keep reading and listening, my point is it wasn’t the books fault it was mine. Outside problems and distractions but what I had listened to kept coming back to me and the story stuck at me until I went back in and kept at it.
It’s a bit slow to start but I’m in now and listening at every opportunity.

Bit slow to start but gets faster paced plot
Well written world
Gripping and fun
Andrea Emmes works well as narrator

If YA paranormal fantasy is your thing give it a go … it’s the first in a series!

I found the story quite complicated to follow in this book and was just getting to understand the characters as it reached the end.
The storyline is interesting and picks up nicely as the series continues.
I struggled with the reader at the start but once I decided the way she sounded was to match with the characters I was happy to continue listening.
Even if you are not sure on this book persevere as the series improves.

Slow burner but don't give up on it

It took me a couple chapters to get in to the book. It comes together well. Can be read as a stand alone but am glade there is more of this world to explore.
