A ground-breaking, stigma-shattering look at the pelvic floor issues encountered by one in three women.
When Helen Ledwick discovered she had a prolapse after the birth of her second child, she was devastated, not just by the constant discomfort but also by the pervasive shame she felt and the lack of available information and support. When she learned that one in three women have pelvic floor disorders, she was horrified...and determined to do something about it.
In this warm, factual and anecdote-rich look at a taboo subject, Helen shares her story along with those of many other women. From postpartum care to incontinence, with expert advice on returning to sport, the impact on sex and intimacy, and having another baby after pelvic floor injury, Why Mums Don't Jump is a ground-breaking book that will have readers laughing, crying and cringing as finally women come together to break the stigma around pelvic floor issues.©2023 Helen Ledwick (P)2023 W. This book has to be the most life changing book I have ever read. At a time when I felt scared, embarassed and alone, this book made me feel hopeful, positive and part of a community of strong and unashamed women. Many things and people have helped me on my personal journey with POP but Helen's book was incredibly powerful and integral to my positive and confident outlook. A must read for anyone with pelvic health issues. Also loved that she reads it herself, which makes it so authentic and relatable.

Inspiring, Reassuring and Educational

I feel in a weird way this book has allowed me to process what's happened and feel like I'm not alone.

It's really hard for anyone around you to understand what it feels like and with the book you almost gain a new friend, some of the stories made me cry and there was a lot of nodding along 'this is me' moments.

I had no idea about polapse before the birth of my second child. Please keep screaming as loud as you can from the rooftops, every woman deserves to know!

Finally feeling like I'm not alone

This is a raw, relevant and despite the horrific reality of pelvic organ proplapse, comical account of one woman's journey towards acceptance and recovery. I'm so grateful to Helen for finding the courage to share her story, ask all of the uncomfortable questions and educate a generation of women about their own bodies!

it's a proper belly laugh!
