I really hoped to love When We Break. Kristen Proby's writing is smooth and easy to get lost in, but the story leaned too heavily into insta-love for my taste. I just didn’t feel the chemistry between the two main characters, which made it difficult for me to feel emotionally connected to their relationship. While it was an enjoyable read, the absence of that spark left it lacking a lasting impact.
I understand that accents can be challenging when narrating a book, which is why this performance didn't quite work for me. The 3 stars are for Connor Crais' performance.

The Irish accent was criminal and kept slipping, making this one painful to listen to.

I’m Irish so maybe my opinion is biased but the God awful accent and the odd unrealistic turn of phrases kinda ruined the incredible story. I adore these Bitter Root Valley books but I can’t even finish it. Story was lacking any spark. Disappointed.
