Pretending to date my handsome new housemate was already a bad idea, but then I discover he’s no ordinary guy—he’s a mobster in hiding. And in this story, he’s not the hero, but the wicked villain.

Rowan Miller isn’t used to hearing the word “no.”

I guess when you’re 6’5, gorgeously tattooed, and sculpted like a Michelangelo masterpiece, women tend to throw themselves at you.

But in a small town like Darkwater Hollow, a reputation as a womanizer will catch up with you—and your business—eventually.

Which is why Rowan needs a fake girlfriend to prove he’s reformed.

Enter, me.

When my house goes up in flames, I agree to Rowan’s offer in exchange for a place to stay.

After my last brutal break up, I’ve sworn off charming, smooth-talking men.

But the way Rowan looks at me—hungry and possessive—makes my pulse race and my skin sizzle with heat.

The longer we pretend to be in love, the more real it feels.

Just when I think I’ve broken my unlucky streak, I discover Rowan’s hiding secrets. Big ones, like his real name.

Will his dark past bring us closer together? Or will it destroy everything we’ve built?~~When He Desires is book 1 of the Fallen God duet. The story continues in When He Takes.

This is one of my favourite GS novels! But the female narration doesn’t match the story suspense and is too fast. I had stop listening half way through, I also had to check if I had upped the speed by accident. It’s spoilt the story for me.

Brilliant story but narration doesn’t match

while both of these talented narrator's give a fantastic performance, Aiden Snow is just swoon worthy ❤ is Nero, the way that man can drag out the 'F' word and make it sound so dam sexy is just 🔥 and we're spoiled by the author giving us these 2 books in duet narration, chef's kiss. this book and the follow up 'when he takes' are a great addition to the Mafia world Gabrielle Sands has created, there are twists i guessed we're coming and couple I didn't see coming, just when you think you know which character was going to get his own duet..BAM! Mz Sands you made me cry! I highly recommend this duet.

Aiden Snow as Nero is 🔥

I have been given this book for an honest review.
I enjoyed this book.
full of action, powerful and very well read but I don't really like the sound of the female voice felt like she was rushing around.
Blake oh my goodness she was so wet behind the ears.
neon well what can you say.

This book ticks all the boxes, the MFC isn’t weak but needs the MMC, just as he does her, total love story, which you will swoon over! But with plenty of action. plot twists and turns! The story flows well and gives enough back story to the main characters, it doesn’t trail off and become stupid and non sensical like other writers stories can at times. I’d love to see this made into a film, Michele Morrone would make for a wicked MMC! Cannot wait to start the sequel! Excellent narration from Aiden Snow as always!

OMG please make this into a film! ❤️🔥🌨🔫🥵
