The first in a stunning new crime series from international bestseller Adam Croft.

A peaceful Sunday morning in Rutland is shattered when a dead body is discovered on the rocks at Normanton Church. The victim has been laid out in a crucifixion pose, facing the altar. DI Caroline Hills is certain there’s a religious connection — one which threatens the tranquillity of life in the area. The killer has gone to extraordinary lengths to make the symbolism clear. And the deaths will continue until Caroline and DS Dexter Antoine uncover the truth behind the dark secret — and what lies beneath.

Good narrator and this may be a nice series to listed to, local to me.

Local

The book is to short and not enough detail in my opinion. The story line is good but would have preferred it to be longer and more detailed

Good listen but not a lot of description

Sorry - not often I give a negative review but I listened for a good while and literally had no idea what was going on. The narrator was dreary and the story didn’t grab me at all.

This was mediocre and I lost interest

Absolutely love the narration. Really spot on. Have listened to two books this week. Don't understand why some of the chapters are so short, like a mere 30 seconds of narration. The. Book is just over 5 hours. Might have. Improved the flow if there were less. Chapters but longer. Overall though, loved the book. On to the. Next!!!

What a Narrator!!

really loved the story line but this was let down by one or two slips of place names. it is really annoying for someone who grew up in Rutland and spent many hours in Oakham and surrounding areas.

poor pronunciation of some street and place names.
