FOR SOME, LIFE CAN BE MURDER
When the police are unable to find a body, they are forced to dismiss a homeless veteran’s claim that he witnessed a homicide. But after he is found murdered in the same spot two days later, DI Bliss and the Major Crime Unit set their sights on catching a ruthless killer.
Elsewhere, when the daughter of a cuckooed family is reported to have attempted suicide, Jimmy Bliss and DC Penny Chandler have their doubts and vow to uncover the truth. But the situation is about to get much worse, and violence is certain to erupt on the city streets.
In his final two investigations before retiring from the police force, Bliss undergoes a desperate search for answers. Answers that prove to be as elusive as the identities of the men making so many people’s lives a complete misery. But with his colleagues every bit as determined to bring these people to justice, the team use all of their experience and insight to uncover the one lead they need to make a breakthrough in both cases…©2023 Tony J. The only thing of the narrator sounded slightly robotic.
Great story bot

The book is fast paced and well plotted and Jimmy and his team are great characters with loads of banter. These books, and the crimes, feel so very realistic. I feel I've got to know Bliss well in the previous books. He is an old style copper who believes in justice and is always on the side of the underdog. I was so sad whilst reading this, wondering if this was the last we would hear of Bliss but I believe book 12 will see him as a civilian investigator working cold cases. Phew!!
It's a shame that they changed the narrator for this book as all the previous ones were narrated by Greg Wagland, though the new narrator, Andrew Cullum, also does a great job.
Bliss's last week as a DCI in Major Crimes

However, once I got used to the new narrator the book was as enjoyable as all the previous ones and I'm glad I managed to complete the series.
Glad I kept listening
