Silver Coyle thought she was doing the right thing - see something, say something. Now she finds herself kidnapped, chained to a pipe in the hull of a ship, and on a collision course with death. Her only chance of rescue is from the one man she never wants to see again - Weston Beil - the know-it-all former SEAL. He’s bossy, arrogant, and sexy all wrapped up in a tough-guy package. Untouchable. But that doesn’t stop the man from sending shivers of excitement racing down her spine.

Weston Beil didn’t want to be right, he didn’t want to say I told you so, but there it was - the beautiful Silver was caught in the middle of a drug war just like he’d warned. The woman was headstrong and stubborn. She tested his limits, pushed his buttons, and set his body on fire. Weston had a plan, he was prepared to use everything in his arsenal to prove to Silver she was his. Only there’s a glitch in Weston’s plan - Silver might not stay alive long enough for him to claim his treasure and convince her he’s fallen in love.

This is the third book in the Gemini Group series, a Romantic Suspense. Weston and Silver's enemies-to-lovers romance is suspenseful, filled with mystery, action, and twists and turns. They are two strong characters. Their push and pull relationship is entertaining. I liked the friendship between the team members, and I loved to see again the characters from the first books. Joe Arden and Erin Mallon did an amazing job with the narration. The last chapter is highly intriguing, and I am looking forward to listening to Alec's Dream, the next book in the series. If you like Romantic Suspense, this one is for you! I highly recommend this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is why Audible should keep real narrators- The tone of the narrator can make or break a story, no matter how well it’s written. The voices of a series, the right voices, ties it all together, then leads you to new books by the narrator you would not have tried. They are like an old friend, Comforting and with all the nuance that maintains the characters, the series and the authors they represent. AI technical capability is far from able to achieve this. Use AI somehow, but embrace the vocal talent you have.

Riley Edwards really knows how to write steamy hot scenes amongst an action filled story. This book gave hot flashes… I wasn’t sure if I was scared for the characters or fanning myself because of the character’s bedroom action.

The narrators, oh the narrators… Joe’s voice is just so dreamy and Erin’s voice really encapsulates the strength being portrayed by the female main character.

6 stars would be my rating if I could.

Gemini Group is a fantastic romantic suspense series! I am loving getting to know each member, how they all have each other's backs and the situations they find themselves in. Installment 3 features Weston. He is a former SEAL, and takes his job very seriously. Looking out for the reckless Silver is part of the job. Silver is independent, takes on what she thinks she can handle and finds herself in a situation where Weston's help may have saved her life. But she is not willing to give into his protection easily. These two are at each other, striving for dominance, just to be the foreplay to their amazing chemistry. Once Weston realizes Silver's softer side, he is a goner and will do anything to protect her. Riley Edwards keeps their animosity going, the suspense high and the danger lurking. I love her stories, the camaraderie between her characters and the love that builds in her couples. She is an amazing romantic suspense author!

Joe Arden and Erin Mallon are perfectly cast for this story. Arden keeps he protectiveness high with Weston, his alpha in the front with an air of tenderness. Mallon understands Silver's independent streak, her vulnerability and need for love. She uses her voice with inflections and nuances to bring it all out. An amazing performance for this fantastic book.

Obviously, all of these books start with an unlikely pair of high achievers with low self-esteem and end up with a delightful romantic pairing at the end.
What makes them so enjoyable is the unexpected twist and turns to the plot, the vivid description of all of the settings and action which is expertly brought to life in this narration, and the detailed character development.
My wife and I are enjoying each of the books in this series
