An authority on wolves, veterinarian Dr. Madeline Styles is hired to stop a disease killing the wolf pups at the Shadow of the Moon Wolf Sanctuary in Montana. Wyatt Weylan, who runs the sanctuary, is drop dead gorgeous, mysterious, and domineering. A man one does not deny.

The minute Wyatt sees Madeline, he is smitten - no - obsessed. Unfortunately, he is forbidden to mate a human. Could she be a rare wolf maiden? A woman with the mark of the wolf? Not possible.

Madeline discovers the pack’s true nature and unexpected dangers that come with living in a secret society. Wyatt does his best to ease her into the truth, yet an immediate threat from an enemy werewolf shadows their tentative relationship.

Eva Gordon has the amazing ability of writing exciting stories. Each series features unique realities that have their own rules and systems. The characters are complex, intelligent, sexual beings that find themselves in fantastical situations. This audiobook is no exception.

Wyatt Weylan is the alpha of his pack and his pack is losing pups to a mysterious disease. Dr Madeline Styles, a leading veterinarian specialist in wolves, may be the answer to their problems. However, even before Wyatt can really approach her with a proposition to help, they feel a strong, unusual connection. That, coupled with Maddie's unusual birthmark, makes them fated mates. The problems are that Maddie did not grow up with a knowledge of her relevance in the shifter world and Wyatt's enemies don't intend to allow him to claim his mate.

I love Wyatt's empathetic alpha tendencies. He attempts to balances his rights as the alpha against Maddie's comfort, despite all the challenges they face. I also love that Madeline is no damsel in distress. What she may lack in physical strength, especially when dealing with the more powerful shifters, she more than makes up for with her intelligence.

The story is fast and fun. Paranormal romance escapism at its best!
