I would recommend reading this one and giving the audiobook a miss - the narrator sounds like AI just droning through the story. The story itself is good, I feel like there’s not enough world building for you to fully feel absorbed by the story. People have compared this to Ready Player One but it doesn’t come close. I would still say I enjoyed the story and might read the sequel but I need a break from that voice!

The narrator will make or break this for you.

well written book struggled to put it down, and very well narrated, very relevant to today's young reading

wonderful

I really wanted to like this book but all of the “hacking” made me roll my eyes. The “English” accents in this are terrible but otherwise the narration was fine. The story was ok but I won’t be reading the follow up.

Meh

decent story, in the same mould as ready player 1. unfortunately there is little variation in the narration, and the audio engineer had a feild day with the highs on the mixer.

decent enough book but with a peircing narrator

Good story reminiscent of Snow Crash classic. The narrator was not great. The whole story was read as if a hyperactive teenager was telling it. It really detracted from the dark serious parts of the story.

Almost snow crash
