Allard Broderick
By Denver based author and artist Allard Broderick. It is a book of Poetry and Art depicting chapters of Allard's life through challenges, pain, adventures and loves, laced in healing ultimately landing in a place of hope.
As a trauma Survivor of CSA and trafficking this work is poignant and raw, giving voice to truths that are often kept silent. Throughout, their artwork is offered as a companion to poems and another way of experiencing them.
He writes with humour and visual details that speaks out through unconventional poetry styles, matched with a variety of art mediums that share the layers of selves within, at times assisting in providing a respite from the difficult places some poems may take the listener.
Wallpaper Dogs leaves room to be seen and heard, encouraging the listeners to perhaps pause, and invite a breath of release in the understanding that they are not alone.
Allard has found a language that has provided a haven when words don't always come naturally.
Wallpaper Dogs is given life as an accessible audio experience by the incomparable narration of Gabriella Cavallero a Denver based voice, stage and film Actor.
