A desperate princess, a magical traveler, and a watch that binds them together with the fate of a dying world.

Vi Solaris is the heir to an Empire she’s barely seen. Her parents sacrificed a life with her to quell a rebellion and secure peace with a political alliance. Now, three years past when her wardship should’ve ended, Vi will do anything to be reunited with her family.

The Empire is faltering beneath the burden of political infighting and a deadly plague. Yet, Vi can’t help but wonder if her inability to control her magic is the true reason her parents haven’t brought her home. Suspicion becomes reality when she unleashes powers she’s not supposed to have.

Powers that might well cost her the throne.

As Vi fights to get her magic under control, a mysterious stranger appears from across the world. He holds the keys to unlocking her full potential, but the knowledge has an unspeakable price - some truths, once seen, cannot be ignored.

All eyes are on her, and Vi must make the hardest choice of her life: Play by the rules and claim her throne. Or, break them and save the world.

If you enjoy epic fantasy stories with sorcery, slow-burn romance, and expansive worlds to adventure in, then you’ll love the Vortex Chronicles.

The author has a wonderful imagination and an artist at telling a Sci-fi story. The author writes and wonderful story that you can get lost in. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I definitely recommend this book to everyone that loves a great Sci-fi story.

Sarah Sampino narration brings the characters to life for me. She is definitely awesome at the voices of the characters in each story she narrator’s. Her persona of each individual character is very entertaining with heartfelt emotions.

First in a series . The story has many levels , right when you think you know where the story is heading the author throws another direction that will have you glued till the end . This is a great fantasy book that is full of magic . You need a strong character to know how to control the elements to do what is needed .

Heroine is Vi .
Vi is promised to someone by her parents before she is even born . Vi is sent away from home , she’s sent North it’s only suppose to be for a certain amount of time but 14 yrs come and gone. Vi is wondering if she will ever go where she is suppose to. Vi is even more wondering what she can do when her magic shows a new element . Does she go home and marry who she is suppose to

I am dyslexic and find it hard to connect to books now having found Sarah sampino through TikTok and listening to her books I have now completed several books this being the first one of a collection which I have bought the whole set to listen to and have fallen in love with the series which I never thought I could. The friendship that by Vi Jamie and aline Is so welcomed as they are not portrayed as defenceless female characters

Sarah damping is awesome to listen to
