Abram ran a hand down the mahogany doorframe. “That’s a good question. We have a lot in common. My family is gone,” he waved a hand around the place. “I’m a Variant without an offensive power.” His eyes flashed red, and he sighed. “Maybe it's just the right thing to do?" John Andrews wakes up in the woods without any memory of the previous day. All he knows is that he has a strange disintegration power, and he is the prime suspect in the brutal murder of his parents. Forced on the run, John meets a man with a variant ability like himself named Abram. With losses of his own and a mysterious past, Abram agrees to assist John in finding the actual murderer. Caught in a whirlwind of lies and deceit, does John have the courage to stop this monster?
