The immortal knight, Sir Richard of Ashbury, hunts his nemesis through centuries of war....

AD 1190, England. A young knight's family is slaughtered. As the lords of Europe seek to retake Jerusalem from the mighty Saladin, Sir Richard swears an oath of vengeance against Earl William de Ferrers, who has returned from the dead with an insatiable thirst for violence.

Richard stalks William and his savage knights across Europe to the Holy Land, fights in the crusades' bloodiest battles alongside Richard the Lionheart and unearths a secret of great evil under the hills of Palestine.

I thought it was a good idea for a series and I would like to find out what happens in the next one

I enjoyed this audio book immensely! I've read the excellent Dan Davis series in kindle already and loved John Lee's narration, he really brought the characters to life.
Vampire crusader is a wild story, loads of excitement, battle and bloodshed. I'm really fond of our fallible hero, Richard and love the humour in Davis' storytelling. This is historical fiction at its finest, with real events and characters woven into a vampire narrative - very cleverly executed!
Looking forward to listening to vampire outlaw asap.

Historical fiction at its finest - with vampires!

I love this book especially the ending conversation with the archbishop. It has been a great companion in my dark and wretched life.

My favorite book

It may not be the most original story in the world, but it is unique and fantastically narrated. The book starts out strong and does not slow down in the slightest. Not a single word is wasted on superfluous characters or story arcs. It follows a tight path of adventure and danger throughout. I love that the hero is not some virtuous good boy but a man with flaws, filled with fury, and bent on revenge at whatever the cost. He is clearly a man of his time, and while he acknowledges the darker side of his character and actions, he makes no apologies for it. Well done, gentlemen.

Excellent story with the perfect narrator

The concept to me is better than the execution. This is a very good premise for a book, there just feels something missing in the way it is told. The 1st person narrative by the end starts to bind. That said I do not usually go for historically set novels, but the plot was new to me and held me to the end.

good idea for story
