Welcome to the Lilydale Foundation Center... home of second chances. At least, that's what they tell us it is. It's basically a glorified prison and asylum for the deranged with good alibis.

When the police pulled me out of my burning home, along with what was left of my Father, I was deemed broken — even if I was the reason the fire started.

So, here I am at my new home. They think they can save us with their fancy facility. But what insane person decided it was a good idea to put a bunch of young, unhinged people together?

It's just asking for trouble.

Unhinged is a why-choose dark romance. It contains adult themes, sensitive topics, and is solely intended for mature audiences over 18. It is recommended that listeners check the trigger warnings before diving in. Unhinged is book 1 in the Dance with my Demons series.

One innocent recommendation later, and I was hitting download on Unhinged (Dance with My Demons, Book 1) faster than you can say “toxic but make it romantic.”

Narrated by the dream team—Marie Hawkins, Joe Arden, Corvin King, and Anthony Palmini—this audiobook was pure ear candy. Honestly, they could narrate my grocery list and I’d still swoon. The story itself? Dark, deliciously twisted, and surprisingly easy to binge. I devoured it in one sitting, alternating between grinning like an idiot and muttering, “Well… that’s not healthy.”

Without spoiling too much, expect morally grey characters, tangled desires, and enough emotional chaos to fuel a therapist’s career for decades. The ending? Yeah… it felt a little rushed—like the author suddenly remembered they had dinner reservations. But am I still diving headfirst into book two? Absolutely.

We are deep in my dark romance era now, and honestly? This unhinged ride didn’t even make me flinch. I’ve listened to worse. Much worse. 🤣

I blame P.B. Squamer entirely for my latest dark romance obsession.

Omg soooo good! I need to know when part 2 is out!
The voice actors are amazing and very well picked. They really made the story come to life. The writing was incredible as always. Why pick? I know I couldn’t!

What a cliff hanger!!!

The story is great, it reminds me of fallen ( movie / tv show ). What makes this audiobook great is the narration. Everyone in this book is so talented, really brining the characters alive.

Story was a bit slow in the first 9 chapters but then it’s started to pick up and the twist at the end was so good, I can’t wait for the next book. The narrators voices definitely make this book. I was reading it rather than listening to audio I would not have enjoyed it the same !

You have to here these guys voices
