She's more than a city girl. She's a celebrity with fans … and stalkers.
I'm an ex-military cowboy from a small town that I'm content to never leave.
We should never have crossed paths. The same way I should never have been at Monroe Blue's concert—never mind jumping onstage to save her.
When the singer shows up on my ranch with fear in her pretty blue eyes after another break-in at her LA mansion, I promise to be her temporary bodyguard.
Even with my special forces training, I have no defenses against the gorgeous singer who's somehow making me feel things in the heart I buried after my mother's death.
Private jets and penthouses weren't made for cowboy boots.
As soon as she's safe, I'll be on the next flight back to Texas.
I might have been hired to protect her, but it's my heart that was left Unguarded.
This is book two in the Redford Ranch Series, but it can be enjoyed as a complete standalone, but the experience would be to start with book one, Untamed . For mature listeners. Narrated in duet style.

I love a good cowboy romance, strong chemistry and a satisfying happy ending, but the romance became so excessively sweet, sentimental and over the top that I found myself cringing rather than enjoying it.
The FMC became unbearably mushy, and the male lead went from being a character I really enjoyed to someone who was so ridiculously perfect and over-the-top romantic that he no longer felt believable. The dialogue became repetitive, the romantic gestures increasingly excessive, and the whole thing felt forced.
I both read the book and listened to the Audible version. I’m familiar with the narrators from other audiobooks, and I think they both did a good job. Unfortunately, narrators can only work with the material they’re given. By the end, the male lead sounded ridiculously gushy, while the FMC came across as a whiny princess. I don’t blame the narrators for that; I think it was entirely down to how the characters and dialogue were written.
There’s a difference between a genuinely romantic ending and one that piles on so much sweetness that it becomes almost unbearable.
I actually ended up skipping chapters towards the end because I simply couldn’t take any more of it. That’s incredibly disappointing considering how much I’d enjoyed the earlier story.
I appreciate the time and effort that goes into writing a book, and I don’t particularly enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I wanted to be honest about my experience.
What could easily have been a four-star read ended up being just two stars for me. Such a shame, because the first three-quarters had so much going for it.
A four-star book completely ruined by the final quarter
