New York Times bestselling author Kate Elliott brings us a thrilling new science fiction adventure set in a rich universe full of political intrigue with Unconquerable Sun.

GENDER-SWAPPED ALEXANDER THE GREAT ON AN INTERSTELLAR SCALE

Princess Sun has finally come of age.

Growing up in the shadow of her mother, Eirene, has been no easy task. The legendary queen-marshal did what everyone thought impossible: expel the invaders and build Chaonia into a magnificent republic, one to be respected--and feared.

But the cutthroat ambassador corps and conniving noble houses have never ceased to scheme--and they have plans that need Sun to be removed as heir, or better yet, dead.

To survive, the princess must rely on her wits and companions: her biggest rival, her secret lover, and a dangerous prisoner of war.

Take the brilliance and cunning courage of Princess Leia--add in a dazzling futuristic setting where pop culture and propaganda are one and the same--and hold on tight:

This is the space opera you've been waiting for.

Really enjoyed the story and the narrator did a great job. Her pronunciation of certain words for Persephone was a bit unusual since it appears she was attempting a British accent but I gave her (the narrator) the benefit of the doubt as who knows how the character would speak.

The story is refreshing in it's treatment of LGBT characters and kept me gripped from start to finish.

All in all a great story and great narrator too.

Can't believe this isn't better known, great characters, fast paced well developed story which expects an intelligent reader. Great narration made this an excellant listen Got this free with audible plus and now off to check out the authors others works. if you liked Nine Fox Gambit or Iron widow you should check this out.

Whilst excellently read I found this too complex to follow easily.
The story is too drawn out and character names are hard follow as is who is on who’s side
But saying that - it would make an excellent film

Too long and confusing

Since this is the first book in a series it’s mainly a setup to introduce the characters and have the evil space empire try and do a Pearl Harbour on Sun’s people.

To be honest both sides sound terrible places to live if you aren’t rich or royal but this book is a lot of fun and it left me looking forward to book 2.

A lot of bang for your buck

I had a lot of fun listening to this audiobook. The story was engaging and the worldbuilding detailed. But mostly I enjoyed the great cast of characters and their interesting dynamics. And the narrator did amazing job voice acting through them all.

Fun, engaging and refreshing
